Overview
The SmartEncrypt Management Console also offers basic device Management whereby Administrators can control which devices users can use to log in to the SmartEncrypt desktop client to access files.
Key Features
- Name - The name of the device from where the user logged in to the SmartEncrypt client.
- Operating System - the operating system on the device.
- Software Version - the version of the SmartEncrypt client software installed on the device.

Users - the number of users that have logged in from the device. Hovering over the number displays the users' names.
- Last Accessed - the date on which the SmartEncrypt software was last accessed from the device.

Action - buttons to:
- Disallow - prevent users from logging in from the associated device.
- Remove - deletes unused devices from the list.
Restrict a device
To restrict a device,
- Navigate to Users and Groups >> Devices page in the Management Console.
- Locate the device you wish to block.
- Click on the button.
- When prompted, type RESTRICT into the field.
- Click OK
- The button will be replaced with a button to indicate the device has been restricted.
Device blocking is device-specific, not user-specific. When you restrict a device, attempts to log in to SmartEncrypt from the device by ANY user will be prevented.
Restoring a restricted device
If a restricted device is able to be trusted again, the device can be restored so that users are again able to log in from that device. To restore a restricted device:
- Navigate to Users and Groups >> Devices page in the Management Console.
- Locate the restricted device you wish to restore.
- Click on the button.
- When prompted, click OK to restore the device.
- Click OK.
- The button will be replaced with the original button to indicate the device has been restored.
