Having decrypted any encrypted files prior to removing the SmartEncrypt software, it is possible that you may come across files that were overlooked and remain encrypted, otherwise known as "orphan files".
In order to decrypt these orphan files, you will need to:
- temporarily re-install the SmartEncrypt software;
- decrypt any orphan files; and
- manually remove the software again.
Note: To complete the installation, you MUST reboot your computer for the software to work correctly. We recommend installing the software at a time convenient for you to be able to reboot as required.
Steps to re-install the SmartEncrypt software

Steps to decrypt orphan files...
- Navigate to the file(s) you wish to decrypt.
